Water Colour/Poster Colour Techniques

Water colour painting is older than oil painting. Normally the only medium needed is water. As water colour dries quickly, you need to work equally, quickly, so speed brings spontaneity with it, and is a hardest to correct once the paint is on the paper. So people tend to be hesitant when applying it. Water colour is transparent, so you can paint one or more layers of colour. Painting in water colour offers an immense scope for every body. (Water colour can work not only by itself ) but ( also ) with coloured pencils, pastels, pen and ink, anything which is compatible with water.

Types of water colours are transparent and opaque (poster). You can study different techniques like Wash, Dry Brush, Wet into Wet and many other special effects using tooth brush, crayons, rubber solution, salt, etc.
